2012 BMW 1 Series Convertible Front

After giving a new life to BMW 1-Series Coupe compact model, now the BMW folks have produced the same mechanical updates to 2012 BMW 1-Series convertible. It is also known as the powerful racing convertible compact from the BMW. It gets improved a lot in the latest 2012 model over the predecessors.


It comes up with new aerodynamics feature called Air Curtain – the air passing technique discovers by BMW to improve the grip of the car on the road, and provide more pleasure ride. The new Air Curtain reduces the aerodynamic resistance near the front wheels.
BMW 1-Series Convertible is inspired by the BMW 2002 sport sedan, and comes on the market for the joy of drivers who want to feel the environment and wind while riding on the luxury sport sedan from BMW.

The BMW 2012 1-Series Convertible comes with same 6-in-line engine that is available on the coupe model. It as well comes in two flavors with 6-inline engine: the 128i Convertible and the 135i Convertible. The engine of BMW 1-Series Convertible is boosted with 3.0-liter, 230 horsepower 6-inline engine that generates a torque of 200 lb-ft for the 128i Convertible. The standard version of series 1 convertible is also powered with BMW’s Valvetronic throttle-less intake technology to provide more efficiency with aluminum/magnesium constructed chassis components.

BMW 1-Series Convertible 2012 is as well injected with the high-tech suspension, which comes with electronically controllable components. The suspension system is featured with an aluminum front suspension. The new BMW’s Dynamic Stability Control system also carries the Dynamic Traction Control feature on the BMW Convertibles to avoid the loss of control over the vehicle at high speed.

While the 2012 BMW 135i Convertible plugs with BMW’s newest engine that generates 300 horsepower but comes with single, twin scroll turbocharger and BMW’s own revolutionary less intake technology to provide great riding experience on the car. The 135i Convertible reaches the acceleration graph of 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds with manual 6-speed transmission.

Moreover, the BMW gives a lot of optional updates to the 135i model. Like as the option to equip with BMW’s 7-speed double clutch transmission, which is an exclusive feature of BMW Z6 Roadster. The Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) improves the M Coupe performance and let it to reach the 0 to 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. While the 128i appears to be slow run with range to reach the 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 with 6-Speed Steptronic automatic gears.

It comes with aggressive rear end styling. The back trunk lid of the BMW 1- Series Convertible has the blended spoiler attached to the end of the car. On the 135i, the new integrated spoiler provides more grips on the road at high speeds, the DCT program also helps the driver in avoiding the collision. The individual L-Shaped lights at the rear side adds the sportier look to the car,and the lights are equipped with Adaptive Xenon headlights, which becomes the standard of the BMW 1-Series It has most of the technical stuff similar to the coupe model. Both models of the BMW 1-series come with major design changes, and powerful engine upgrades to meet the demand of community.
